Lava Sauce on Tour.
Lava Gourmet Hot Sauce has been seen in some interesting places lately. Sure you can see it all over Texas, 'cause hey, that's where we are from.  We thought you might enjoy some of these other locations as much as we do. If you see Lava Sauce somewhere let us know, or better yet snap a picture and send it to us! We are watching.

Keep your eye on this page. You never know where Lava Sauce will turn up!  Remember, this ain't your ordinary hot sauce!

Lava Hot Sauce in Austin for the Making of Lava Gourmet Hot Sauce Extreme.

As you may have figured by now, there has been a slight delay in getting Extreme out to those desiring more heat.  We have had delays in receiving our shrink-wrap neck bands for the new sauce, but the sauce is otherwise ready.  We'll announce it's availability for sale as soon as we can, but it should be very soon!  In the meantime, here is a little of the story of how Lava Gourmet Hot Sauce is made.....

Loco Luna works closely with Austin Kitchen for the production of our gourmet products.  As a top-notch commercial kitchen, this joint is just what we require for our small batch, hand crafted sauce.  

This is a view of the inside of the production facility.  If you look inside, you can see the cases of Lava Gourmet Hot Sauce Extreme ready to be filled as soon as the hand-filled bottles roll off of the line.

All commercial sauces must be cooked to approximately 185° in order to be sold in grocery and other stores.  This helps to increase shelf-life and consistency of the product.  Here, some herbs are being added to the peppers and other ingredients in this larger "mixer".

This is another view, but you can see how the sauce is mixed.

This is view of some of the filling equipment used for filling the bottles and getting them boxed up ready to be enjoyed.  In the picture below this one, you can see the filling in action!

Some of the staff at Austin Kitchen use this contraption to hand fill the bottles of Lava Gourmet Hot Sauce.  If you look carefully, you can see that they are already labeled at the time of their filling.

Finally, you get to the filled cases of Lava Gourmet Hot Sauce.  Each case holds 12 5 oz. bottles of gourmet goodness straight from Texas to wherever you may be!
