Rare Finds Reviews: Loco Luna produces hot sauces where incredible flavor takes center stage.

Rare Finds "your choice for artisan foods" recently reviewed the Lava Gourmet Hot Sauce line up.  As you can tell from the title, Rare Finds was impressed.  The reviews are here:

Lava Gourmet Hot Sauce - Extreme

We had the milk standing by, the chocolate ready, anything to cool the heat that this bad boy was going to throw at us. Surprise! This is really hot, and really tasty. That’s right; you could actually taste sauce – not just never-ending pepper burn. Oh it had kick, but like all the other sauces from Loco Luna they didn’t forget about taste. So if you only eat hot sauce to ‘macho out’ in front of the guys…this sauce will be wasted on you. It’s hot and sultry with sweetness and citrus running through that’s bathed in deep dark chili flavors. Pair it against something cool and pink like iced shrimp. Deviously delicious.

Lava Gourmet Hot Sauce - Hot

We started singing ‘You Light Up My Life’ the minute we tasted this sauce (ear plugs were immediately inserted by many). Its perky heat is beautifully balanced against real flavors (lime, herbs, chili, sweetness, vinegar, peppers) so it awakens your taste buds but doesn’t slam them against the floor. We’d recommend this for anyone who likes some heat (even you less daring out there – this is so packed with flavor it’s the perfect ‘training’ sauce for those who are working towards increasing their heat tolerance). Bold, but restrained…we loved this sauce.

Lava Gourmet Hot Sauce - Medium

Don’t let the name 'Lava' fool you. This sauce is more bark than bite. It’s exceptionally flavorful (unlike hot sauces that make you cry from being all pepper and no taste). It has just the right habanero kick wound in and amongst some sweetness, some tang, and this deep rich chili background. It’s not to thick and pours beautifully over fluffy scrambled eggs and chorizo or quesadillas, and we found it did wonders splashed over an avocado half. And it's the perfect sauce to serve in mixed company (i.e. hotheads and wussies). You'll have both sides oohing and aahing.
